Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our open afternoon is on Wednesday 11th October from 1.15pm - 3.00pm.
Our open evening will be on Monday 2nd October and will start at 6.00pm.
We have a free coffee morning from 8.45 till 9.45am today, so parents can pop in to say goodbye to Mrs Harty, who is leaving us after 17 years. Please join us if you can.
Mr. Matthews
Unfortunately, school is closed today due to the weather.
We have been lucky enough to find some money, which had to be spent on the school building or grounds, so that we could resurface the space outside our early years classrooms. Now we have a blank canvas, you will see lots of different things being added to it over the coming weeks! We can't wait!
We are luckier than the majority of schools in the area, in that we have multiple roads which lead up to school. That being said, during the main drop off times (about 8.40 – 8.55am) and pick up (about 3.20-3.40pm), the roads near to school are extremely busy. I know many parents try really hard to avoid driving to school if they can, although I also know that sometimes people have no option but to use the car. If you are driving to school, please avoid arriving too early to get a spot, and try to park further away from the school gates. If you find there is only one space available in a particular area, try to leave space for residents to park, and find a better spot, which sadly, may be a bit further from school.
Many thanks for your help with this.
Our superb girls football team came joint second in the league this year, but due to goal difference, were awarded bronze medals. A fantastic achievement, well done girls!
Our wonderful Y5 and Y6 children are travelling to Paris on Monday 3rd October, returning on Friday 7th October. They will be going to the top of the Eiffel Tower, sailing along the Seine, and spending 2 days visiting Disneyland Paris. 6 staff from school are going with them, including myself as visit leader, and Mr Harty as deputy leader. We will be sending lots of updates via the school FaceBook page, so make sure you look out for photos and messages.
Mr Matthews
This year's Harvest Festival will be on Thursday 20th October. Please join us if you can in the assembly at 9am. If you would like to attend, please let the office know in advance, so we can put out enough chairs.
Tins and packets of food must only be sent in on that day. Everything we collect will go to Darwen Food Larder.
Many thanks.
Mr. Matthews
Letter of Condolence
The Ashleigh School community joins the Royal Family and the nation in mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
As sovereign to the UK and Commonwealth for more than 70 years, and as the longest-reigning British Monarch, she leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of service and dedication.
From a young girl who did not expect to be Queen, to an iconic and celebrated figure who became Britain’s longest reigning monarch. For every generation, she provided an example and continuity that unites us today in offering our heartfelt condolences.
