Friday 31st March is a non uniform day, please come to school in your own clothes with an Easter Egg as payment!
We have been selling red noses for a number of weeks now and have managed to sell over 300 of them. The money raised goes to incredibly worthy charities. What with the sale of the noses AND the non uniform day today, we have raised £536 in total. An amazing figure I'm sure you'll agree.
Thank you all!
Our superb swimming team stormed to victory tonight at the Darwen School's Swimming Gala, winning both girls team races and coming second overall for the whole event.
We were incredibly proud of their attitude and how they conducted themselves. Well done everyone!
Our cross country team competed at the Darwen Schools Cross Country event at Hoddlesden today. Everyone put 100% effort in, but sadly the competition was fierce so we didn't win overall this time round. One of our boys, Cody Dewhurst, managed a top 10 position, coming 5th, which was an amazing result.
Well done everyone, we were very proud of you all.
We are all very excited in school. We finally have a way for children to blog in a completely safe environment.
Over the next couple of weeks, all children in school will be shown how the blogging system in school works. Each child will get a unique password, which will allow them to log into a special part of the school website. Children will be able to blog, message one another and receive messages from school staff, all in a completely enclosed and moderated environment.
No messages can appear on the website until approved by a member of school staff.
Today is the official World Book Day. We are celebrating it, as we usually do, by organising a day focused on the love of reading.
Rather than dressing up as we have done in the past, the whole day will revolve around the idea of a slumber party. Children will be invited to come to school in their pajamas, bring their favourite teddy and a torch!
Pictures will follow, but don't forget to follow Twitter for up to date news on all special events in school.
