Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our Y2 children have finished their tests and assessments for the year. Everyone tried really hard as usual, and I am sure when the results are published that we will see the fruits of all their efforts. Well done everyone!
Y1 also completed their Phonics Screening check last week, they too did their best and we're confident they will have done really well.
Our Y6 children are off on their travels tomorrow. They will be spending the weekend at Winmarleigh Outdoor Centre, doing all sorts of adventurous things, such as: climbing, zip line and sensory trail.
We will post pictures via twitter and the website as soon as we can.
Last night, Y6 camped on the school field. They toasted marshmallows, played games and watched films to cool down. It was the hottest, and longest day of the year!
Everyone had a fantastic time, and even managed to get some sleep. As the weather changed from being boiling hot to rather cool and wet, we have had to leave the tents to dry before putting them away. Let's hope the next camp has more 'normal' weather!
On Monday 12th June, each child can bring in their own food to make a Healthy Funky Lunch plate in school. School will provide the plates. This is meant to be part of a healthy meal as well as being visually appealing.
The winners will have their work photographed and permanently displayed in school. In the afternoon, the children can share their food with each other and enjoy a class party. Should your child need food refrigerated, please send it in a named container.
This event should be an exciting start to our Healthy Food week starting Monday 12th to Friday 16th June.
We really look forward to seeing all the entries.
On Tuesday 13th June, we are holding a competition and asking children to bring in a healthy recipe that they would like to be made as part of a school meal. The winners will have the honour of having their meal made for all to sample. Dig out those lovely recipes everyone!
Most classes were visited by Zoolab today. Children learnt all about a variety of animals, and even were able to see them close up!
Pictures to follow...
We are delighted to report that Miss Kavanagh and Mr Harty were married during the half term break. I am sure you would want to join me in wishing them every happiness for the future!
