Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Today, our wonderful Mrs Squelch and her talented gardening team, invited the Reception children's parents/grandparents to school to help in the garden. The children and parents worked and played together in our school gardens.
Many thanks to all those who were able to join us today, we hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as the children did.
The Bethany Family came into school this morning to talk to us about life in Tanzania. The choir sung beautifully and the whole school was captivated by their performance. They also talked about their lives and showed how to carry water on your head! Bethany is funded entirely on public donations (mainly from the East Lancs area) and money collected at this mornings assembly was passed onto them. We also have a collection tin in school for any further donations. We also have calendars on sale for £2.00 promoting the Bethany Project. If you would like details of where the choir a performing next then please see their website www.bethanyfamily.net
Today, children from our Y4 & y5 classes took part in an amazing concert at King George's Hall in Blackburn. A special piece of music had been written and performed for the first time, celebrating the Leeds to Liverpool canal.
We were lucky enough to have the Red Cross visit Y6 today, to train our children in basic first aid.
Our brand new School Council met for the first time on Friday.
They had some super ideas on how we could make it really clear to everyone who they were. One of them was to have a special coloured sweatshirt with council written on. So we are going to have some printed and they will be presented to them at a Shine assembly very soon.
Here they are, looking smart in their own clothes due to our Macmillan coffee morning.
The annual Whitehall in Bloom competition took place recently, with the awards being made on Thursday 29th September.
Ashleigh always does well in this competition. Sadly, as we were the only school to take part, we were in competition with all the other garden groups, rather than just schools. Despite this we still came second overall. An amazing achievement!
Many thanks to our superb gardening team, led as ever by Mrs Squelch.
