  • New staff and staff who are moving on

Thu 21 Jul 2016 Mr. Matthews

Sadly, tomorrow, Miss Suleman will be leaving us. Miss Suleman has been on long term supply for us this year. She has done a brilliant job and we are very sorry to see her go. Happily, she has been appointed to a full time permanent post at another local school in Blackburn. We wish her well for the future.

Our fantastic dance teacher will also be leaving us to go to another job, again, within Blackburn with Darwen. Claire has been inspirational this year, even taking on the task of organising our entry into the BWD dance festival. We will miss her very much and wish her well in her future career.

On a happier note, we will be welcoming a new teacher to Ashleigh in September, Mrs Lomax will be joining us to teach partially in Y2/3 and Reception. Mrs Lomax is a very experienced teacher and we are all looking forward to working with her in the future.

We will also have a new teaching assistant in school in the new year. Mrs Wood will be working with mainly junior classes, and will be with us until Easter 2017.

  • School Development Plan 2016-17

Thu 21 Jul 2016 Mr. Matthews

Last night, the school council, staff and governors came together to discuss next year's School Development Plan. Everyone had some great ideas which will feed into the new plan which starts in September.

Thank you to all those who were able to come, your ideas and suggestions will be invaluable.

  • Reception and Y1 walk to Darwen Tower

Tue 12 Jul 2016 Mr. Matthews

This morning, all the children in Reception and R/1 classes walked to Darwen Tower.

Everyone had a fantastic time and even the weather was kind to us.

We will post pictures below very soon.

We are hoping to take the remaining children from Y2 and Y3 up to the tower as soon as we can, weather permitting.
