  • Christmas Cards

Tue 24 Nov 2020 Mr. Matthews

This year, children can still bring Christmas cards for their friends, but we are not posting them in the post box as usual. They will remain in class and given out after being quarantined for a few days. Please discourage children from sending cards to children in other classes this year, as it will be tricky to distribute them. Please don't send any in after Friday 11th December, as we want to leave them alone for at least 3 days once they arrive in school.

    Stay safe and well,

    Mr. Matthews

  • Christmas Post Box

Mon 23 Nov 2020 Mr. Matthews
Our special Father Christmas post box is back as usual! From tomorrow until Friday 11th December, children can post their letters to Father Christmas and will get a letter back before we finish for the holidays. Please make sure that your child's name and class are VERY clearly marked on the letter itself, so that the elves know who to send the reply back to!
  • Our new promotional video is now live.

    Tue 17 Nov 2020

We have created a video to show how great our school is. Have a look and we are sure that you will agree that Ashleigh is a wonderful school for your children.

  • Parent's Evening Online System

Thu 05 Nov 2020 Mr. Matthews
Apologies if you have had technical issues with the new online booking & call parent's evening system this week. When things eventually return to normal, we will probably continue to use the booking element of the system only. Assuming it's still not safe enough for parents to come into school en masse by Spring, we will try again using the video call system.
If you have been unable to speak to your child's teacher due to technical difficulties this week, please give the office a call and arrange a telephone meeting.
    Many thanks,
    Stay safe and keep well,
    Mr. Matthews
  • Children who are starting school in September 2021

Mon 02 Nov 2020 Mr. Matthews

Choosing a school for your children must rank as one of the trickier decisions we have to make as parents. As a parent, I understand how difficult it can be, and getting a feel for a school is just as important as SATs results and OFSTED gradings.

As we can't have our usual open evenings to show new parents what Ashleigh is all about, we are giving families guided tours after school every day, once all the children have gone home.

As a school, we did not think it was responsible to put prospective new parents, or indeed our current children and staff, at risk, by showing them around school whilst everyone was in.

So giving families individual tours, with all adults wearing masks and socially distancing, seems to be the best way to give people a taste of what we can offer their children.

If you have a child who starts school next year, please get in touch with the office and I would be delighted to show you around and answer any questions you may have. If you know someone who is thinking about which school to send their children to, pass this on to them.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Mr. Matthews
