It's not very often jobs come up at Ashleigh, but once in a while they do. We have created a new vacancy section on the website so any jobs which do come up in the future will appear there.
Currently, we have a temporary Teaching Assistant role available.

On Monday, the count for the Parent Governor role took place.
It was an extremely competitive field, with all candidates receiving lots of votes. Thanks for sending your ballot papers back.
There were 128 votes cast.
Mrs Sarah Baker was the candidate with the most votes.
The governing body and I are looking forward to working with her in the future.
Thank you to all of the candidates for allowing themselves to be put forward, it is very much appreciated.
On Thursday 7th July, children from Ashleigh will be laying a wreath on the Cross of Sacrifice in memory of soldiers who died during the Battle of the Somme in July 1916. An inscribed granite bench will be unveiled on behalf of the Darwen Townswomen's Guild to honour the women of the area who supported soldiers during the Great War.
We are delighted to be part of this event, as our school building was opened at the start of World War One, and has played such a significant part in the area, in a variety of roles, ever since.
We have just received the brilliant news that school has become a RHS Five Star Gardening school.
In order to achieve this award, Mrs Squelch and her gardening team had to prove the following:
Well done everyone, this is superb recognition to all the great work which takes place in the garden. Many thanks to Mrs Squelch for being the driving force behind it too!
Children from Y4,5 & 6 walked from school to Darwen Tower today. They all had a fantastic time, and although they are a little tired, they look fresher than the teachers who accompanied them!
Many many thanks to the staff who arranged the visit and went along with them. We also had superb additional support from governors and friends of the school.
Mr Thompson's meticulous organisation really paid off!
Check out Twitter for lots of pictures...
The next walk to the tower is due to take place on Thursday 30th June, for children in Y3 and Y2. Please note, all children in classes Y2/3 and Y3 will be walking.
Additionally, the Y2 children in the Y1/2 class will be taking part in this walk. Y1 children in Miss Entwistle's class, will not be walking on the 30th June.
The final walk to the tower will be for children in Reception, Reception/Y1 and the Y1 children in Miss Entwistle's class. This is scheduled for Tuesday 12th July.
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to make contact with school.
To celebrate the end of their topic, Y4 re-enacted a Viking nobleman's burial at sea today.
The whole school turned out to watch!
Y4 have been learning all about the Vikings. Today, they presented to the rest of school everything they had found out. This afternoon, they will burn the enormous Viking long boat they have built.
