• Commemorative Jubilee Hedge Plaque

  Our friends at WEC very kindly made a beautiful plaque for our special Jubilee hedge the gardening group has planted. Many thanks for this, it explains the significance of this new hedge, which will hopefully be there for future generations to enjoy.

  What amazing entries we've had for today's Jubilee Cake Competition! Below are just some of the cakes you made at home, which are being sold during the day to children.

  Any unsold cakes will be on sale to parents after school in the hall. Please pop in if you have time.

• Jubilee Art Exhibition

• Jubilee Assembly

  Pictures from our Jubilee assembly this morning. Each class has researched one of the decades from the last 70 years and shared their findings with the rest of school. We had music from the 50's, 60's 70's and so on, and even some dancing!

  Later today, we will have our special Jubilee lunch which our catering team have been hard at work preparing.

  Finally today, from 2.30pm till 3.45pm, our Jubilee art exhibition will take place in the school hall. Parents are very welcome to come and visit. Please come into school via the kitchen/hall door ramp.

  

• Vocalise Youth Choir Visit

  We have visitors from Vocalise Community Youth Choir in today. All of the juniors have had a fantastic session with them this afternoon. Many thanks for coming, the children loved every minute of it!

• Vegetables donation from Elektec

  One of our local businesses from Darwen, Elektec, have very kindly donated lots of different vegetables for our wonderful garden. Thank you so much for this, our gardening groups will really enjoy planting them in our vegetable patches.

  In the weeks to come, I've no doubt the kitchen will be able to use what we've grown, in the amazing dinners they cook each day.

• Y6 SATs Week

  Next week our pupils in Y6 will be taking their KS2 SATs tests. They have worked incredibly hard this year, and we know they will do their best. Good luck to everyone in Y6!

• Y4 Rock Star Day

  Our wonderful Y4 children have had a Rock Star Day! If you've not heard about TT Rock Stars from your children, ask them about it. They all looked amazing. Keep up the good work learning your times tables!
