Ashleigh now has Purple Mash!
Purple Mash is an award-winning website for primary school children. It enables children to explore and enhance their knowledge in a fun and creative way.
With Purple Mash we can:
In short, it's amazing!

Then, use the login and password your teacher has given you. If your teacher hasn't sent this home yet, they will very soon.
Everyone already knows how amazing our school dinners are. The kitchen team already have the highest rating possible with environmental health, i.e. a 5* rating. They have now won the highest award given by the local authority, a Gold Award in the Recipe 4 Health competition. Well done everyone!
If you're a pupil reading this, make sure you tell the kitchen staff how proud you are of them and how fantastic the school dinners are!
Everyone looked very smart in their own clothes today. The 'payment' children have made for wearing their own clothes, i.e. Easter Eggs, will be the prizes at tonight's Easter Egg Bingo Eggtravaganza, organised by our superb Friends of Ashleigh members.
Thank you Mr. Conlon for taking charge of proceedings, much appreciated as always.
Good luck bingo players!
Mr Harty and a team of 8 junior swimmers have been preparing for tonight's Darwen School's Swimming Gala for a few weeks now.
Good luck tonight, we know you'll represent Ashleigh brilliantly!
After a fantastic day of reading and work around books, we finished the day with a special assembly.
One child from each class was chosen by a panel of staff to win a trip to Waterstones in Bolton where they will be able to choose a book as a prize.
Very well done everyone.
Thank you to the staff who organised it all, Mrs Davies and Mr Harty.
A new club for children in Y5/6 will start on Friday 1st April.
We have had a Film Club in the past, and it was always well attended.
Please note, it is only for children in Years Five & Six.

Happily, the weather has been kinder for our second attempt at World Book Day.
The children looked truly amazing this morning, so well done everyone, especially our creative and inventive parents! Sat here as Winnie the Poo, it makes me appreciate not being a furry animal suffering with central heating!
Mr Harty revealed our very first Readers of the Week this morning.
Every Friday, during the Shine assembly, we will celebrate the fantastic reading that has taken place that week.
Here are our very first winners.

Our wonderful Y3 choir will be singing tonight in the Sing Together concert at King George's Hall, Blackburn. This concert has children coming together from all over the Northwest region, and we are very proud to be part of it. Good luck to everyone involved. Thank you parents for supporting such a brilliant event. The children have worked hard over the last few months getting ready for it and I'm sure it will all pay off tonight. Thanks must also go to Mrs Walsh for organising it all.
Sadly, due to the weather conditions, we had to make the decision at 7.30am, in conjunction with the Chair of Governors, that we had to close today. A number of staff made it in despite the terrible conditions, but we could not operate with the skeleton staff we had available. It wasn’t fair to ask staff to put their safety at risk in order to get to school. The health and safety of pupils and staff are always our first priority.
It’s the first time in 5 years we’ve had a complete closure, and hopefully, there won’t be another for 5 more!
